After lapping up all the praise for their roles in the highly-acclaimed film The Wolf of Wall Street, Leonardo Di Caprio and Jonah Hill are teaming up to create a show chronicling the legendary hip hop crew, A Tribe Called Quest.
The series is said to cover all aspects from the iconic group's meteoric rise to their abrupt split in 1998. Starting out in the late 80's the crew consisting of Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad and Phife Dawg formed part of the Native Tongue movement which also ushered in seminal acts like De La Soul and the Jungle Brothers. They have been praised for their pioneering sounds which would go on to influence future hip hop artists with cats like Pharrell Williams and Kanye West all singing their praises.
A comprehensive documentary entitled Beats, Rhymes and Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest was released in 2011, but the members were unhappy with the outcome.
Luckily this time around Q-Tip has been enlisted to help in the making of the new series. We can't wait to see this one!
